I met Ariane by mere chance - while cleaning out my kitchen drawers, I found her flier that I had picked up at some healthy joint at least a year prior.  At that point in my life I was feeling extremely down- depressed, confused, frustrated and ugly.  I decided to shoot her an email and when she responded, I immediately felt connected to her.  Over the next 4 months I met her regularly at a private gym before work. We always had great workout sessions and I began to feel better about myself immediately.  But more than the exercise, she offered such sound advice about life.  She was so easy to talk to and open up to that I began to really confide in her.  Over time, she became a great friend and a true confidant. Although I left New York over a year ago, I still keep in touch with her and am ever so grateful for the inspiration and encouragement she has shared with me.  Ariane is a special and unique soul who always goes above and beyond any expectation as a "personal trainer".

I started working with Ariane late last year.  Her competence, reliability, professionalism, and upbeat attitude make her an ideal trainer for those on the go.  Basically, once a week we work with free weights and also do core building.  She has counseled me on all aspects of nutrition.  Although I have always been cardio fit she has introduced me to a new level of fitness, strength, and good health.  At my age, 60, it is imperative to remain strong, fit, and flexible. That one hour a week certainly has enhanced my wellbeing.  I am not sure what else you could ask of a trainer?

Ariane is a wonderful trainer and I would recommend her to any of my friends.  We met when I attended one of her workshops.  I thought she was smart, thorough, friendly and could really help me.  After the workshop, I inquired about private training to help me as I geared up for my wedding.  It was the best thing I could have done!

Since working with Ariane privately, I have dropped 2 dress sizes and lost 15 lbs.  More importantly, I have learned to love the challenge of exercise and have found new, healthy ways to eat.  Ariane is really skilled at working with an individual - she understood quickly the nuances of my lifestyle, health concerns and personality and learned how these things impact what/when I eat and how/when I workout.  Because of this understanding, she has been able to give me tailor-made workouts and nutrition advice that have really helped me progress.

One of the best things about Ariane is her follow-through.  She doesn't just train me and then forget about me until our next session.  In between sessions, she checks in on me via email to see how I'm doing and to make sure I've set goals for the week.  These check-ins have really helped me stay motivated.  She has also sent me articles and CDs in the mail when she saw something of interest to me.  I really feel that Ariane has a personal investment in my success and that I'm not "just another client."  This personable approach is so rare today and I think this is what makes Ariane so special.

Ariane showed me some pointers when it came to my workout.  Just by making small adjustments here and there, I felt like I was getting a better workout.  I actually had to use less weight at first, because I was using my muscles correctly now.  The ab exercise she showed me was fantastic.  My abs are stronger than ever.  I have shown this exercise to others and they love it.

Over the last 20 years I have had a number of personal trainers. Ariane was the best I ever had. She has an exceptional knowledge of nutrition as well as diversified forms of exercise. She knew exactly how to motivate me to give my best in our workouts. She varied our workouts so I never got bored training with her over 1 1/2 years. She helped me prepare myself for a knee replacement and even did some work with me during my rehab. I was really disappointed when she decided to move to New York and I haven't been able to find a trainer as exceptional as her since she left.

Ariane is fantastic! She is able to motivate me even after a long day at work. Her workouts are never boring; we never do the same things twice. She also provides expert advice about how to modify my diet and habits to reach my goals faster. Other trainers, especially those at big chain gyms, cannot hold a candle to her. She puts in at least the same amount of effort into our sessions that I do. She is not just watching me and counting, she's teaching me the proper technique so that I can work out on my own in a more effective manner.

I attended your workshop a few weeks ago and wanted to tell you how I was fairing. The first week was tough but I persevered and lost 1lb, normally I would have been upset that I only lost one pound but I decided to be proud of myself that I didn't gain any weight, so instead of feeling failure, I felt good about myself.   

The second week I made some adjustments to my diet and lost 5 more pounds!  My face and belly where significantly thinner - even my friends were making comments about my weight loss!   

Yesterday was Super Bowl Sunday a known binge eating day for Americans!  Even though the food was offered to me, I only nibbled a bit, in the past I would have binged.   

I have lost all my cravings for sugar and greasy fatty foods!  I don't fret going out to eat and I've been selecting only healthy choices on the menu!  My skin and hair feel better, my mood is so much better and I have tons of energy!  

I wanted to thank you so much for changing my thinking about food.  Now I don't feel like I'm depriving myself.  I think of food as fuel and it's been working.  I have 18 pounds to go to meet the goal you set for me - it's so exciting!

Ariane, I really enjoyed your workshop. This is the first time I’ve actually heard about an approach that focuses more on how I feel rather than how much I weigh and so far it’s made a huge difference. I have been able to get rid of my sugar cravings and my meals are so much more balanced. As a result I’ve been able to fit again into my size 6 jeans and have energy even in the evenings. The best part is that I’m not feeling deprived or hungry at all. Thanks for getting through to me!

I have been working out with many personal trainers for the last 5 years, but in only 2 months Ariane has helped me more than anyone else. With all her knowledge of Nutrition she has taught me how to eat correctly, but more importantly how to make the correct food choices that I can live with everyday, lose weight, and create an eating and working out lifestyle that I want to maintain.

Ariane is a personal trainer in every sense of the word. Her attentiveness to the needs of her clients, both physical and mental, sets her apart from the vast majority of trainers. Ariane entered my life when I was ripe for change…real and permanent change. I spent many years as a frightened and painfully self-conscious girl. I was losing a lifelong struggle with obesity and self-doubt. I used to pore over fitness magazines and wonder what the women in those pages knew that I didn’t. Why they kept referring to their exercise routine as something they did “just for them”. To me it was a chore every time.

Ariane has helped me to really see how being strong on the outside fosters strength on the inside. I get it now. Taking care of my body is no longer an unpleasant task. I challenge myself because it makes me proud, because it helps me face the difficult things in my life, not because I should or because I am trying to keep a certain amount of room in my jeans. And, isn’t feeling satisfied about who you are - deep down - what it’s all about? Ariane has helped reshape my mind as well as my butt, so much so that I feel inspired to share with others what I have learned. I’m currently pursuing certification in personal training, and hope to one day inspire others to see their potential in the same way that Ariane has with me.
